One Panel #9: Dr. Occult, Hard Man!

From Dr. Occult : "The Werewolf, Part 1" by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, More Fun #11 (Jul 1936)

Dr. Occult AGAIN?! It's kind of a natural thing, don't you think? Nothing against all the other strips in those pre-Superman days, but the Doc is probably going to show up several times, if only because of our familiarity with him today.

Am I right, though? Have none of his contemporaries appeared in the modern age of comics, even with the likes of Roy Thomas, James Robinson, etc. scribbling stories of the DC Universe? Here are more strips from 1936 issues of More Fun and New Comics, any of them ring a bell?

Spike Spalding
Woozy Watts
Jack Woods
Don Drake
Barry O'Neill
Wing Brady
Along the Main Line
Brad Hardy
Buckskin Jim
Little Linda
Midshipman Dewey
2023 Super Police

So... anyone? ...Anyone? ...Bueller? ...Bueller?

I would pay good money for a Sir Loin of Beef ongoing series set in the DC Universe.
Oh, come on- you're not up on Goofo the Great Ongoing, from IDW? ;-)

I have to say, some of these titles make me want to go check them out...

Some of them vaguely ring a bell, but that's likely just there resemblance to 10,000 other generically named Golden Age adventure heroes at other companies.
