The Other Outsiders

I just watched Francis Ford Coppola's The Outsiders, based on the S.E. Hinton novel, not to be confused with Mike W. Barr and Jim Aparo's superhero team of the same name, even if they did both premiere in 1983.

But what if I did confuse them? Which Greaser do I cast in the role of each Outsider?
Dallas is Batman. An angry and often destructive leader, but ultimately, he's got his team's back. When one of the family dies, he completely loses it.
Ponyboy is Halo. He stays golden in a world of darkness, keeping a certain measure of innocence through it all.
Johnny is Katana. Defends Ponyboy with a blade, and having blood on his hands, this diminutive fighter is tortured by what he's done.
Two-Bit is Metamorpho. The wise-cracking smart mouth of the group.
Darrel is Black Lightning. An athletic father figure to the other Outsiders, a teacher, if you will, who wants Ponyboy to go to college.
Sodapop is Geo-Force. The "movie-star" handsome, princely tough who dropped out of his responsibilities to slum it with the Outsiders.
Steve is Looker. He takes great care with his appearance and is played by Tom Cruise. 'nuff said.

Obviously the Socs represent every lame gimmick villain and team the Outsiders has faced over the years. Makes perfect sense. Don't you think?
